The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Overview:
IT Service Owner Corporate Communications work closely with the Marketing and Corporate Communications business teams to engage with business and deliver quality IT solutions This candidate will engage with the business teams to gain in-depth understanding of business processes and be able to document them both in written and in visual forms like process flows. He/she will engage with Marketing and Corporate Communications teams to communicate IT initiatives that impact business. The IT Service Owner (ITSO) Corp Communications has the overall responsibility to serve as the strategic interface with Marketing and Corporate Communications business leaders for the purpose of business technology strategy development, solution discovery, service management, risk management and relationship management. The ITSO serves as the business relationship link between business functions and IT at the senior leadership level. The ITSO provides strategic consulting level support and guidance through key IT initiatives. They communicate decisions, priorities and relevant project information to appropriate levels of staff regarding business requests and projects and initiatives. They proactively share knowledge of technology risks and opportunities to build competitive advantage and improve efficiency and effectiveness of business functions. They partner with business leadership and other key stakeholders to define opportunities and identify and prioritize projects based on predefined criteria (e.g. return on investment, productivity, compliance). The ITSO proactively serves as a trusted advisor, and is the primary IT point of contact to business line executives and managers. They operate as the key business contact representing IT in promoting IT services and capabilities. The ITSO provides support in delivering technology products that meet the needs of the business. The ITSO focuses on strategic initiatives and planning activities for their business area. They strive to understand market challenges, including customer priorities and competitive issues. ITSO s are proactive and anticipatory in their thinking. They are, by nature, driven and provide significant value to business units. ITSO s facilitate the investment intake process and the high-level planning and execution of business initiatives through the use of technology. They serve a lead role in enabling the business to achieve their objectives through the effective use of technology. The ITSO partners with other IT functions to enable, deliver and support the technologies enabling Marketing and Corporate Communications.
Responsibilities:

  • Partner with senior leaders to develop and implement technology roadmaps to enable Marketing and Corporate Communications strategy and vision. customers.
  • Collaborate with management to develop annual budgets for respective business areas.
  • Develop solution concepts and business cases for new investments.
  • Perform business analysis and prepare recommendations and business plans as needed.
  • Create and analyze relevant information and develop recommendations that they present to senior management.
  • Act as the key liaison across all functional areas, including business units, the information technology department, and outside vendors.
  • Create shared vision of their respective solutions and facilitate decision making and arbitration relating to trade-offs both within and between different solution platforms.
  • Develop and implement sound rationale for portfolio management and managing product phase-in-phase-out plans, proactively anticipating gaps and overlaps within the portfolio.
  • Oversee the launch of solutions and help to maximize the positive impact on the organization.
  • Identify, screen and evaluate new solution opportunities to address unmet (internal and external) customer needs.
  • Partner with key staff members to create strategic business plans.
  • Possess strong analytical skills, including an understanding of business economics and financial resources.
  • Collaborate with architecture Security and operations teams to ensure solution compatibility with company standards.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management Office on the intake process and prioritization of projects.

Customers:
Marketing and Corporate Communications leaders and teams, IT Service Delivery teams application and support vendors.

Education &
Experience:
Bachelor s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Marketing, Communications, IT or related field. 5-10 years experience in developing and executing strategic plans and/or project portfolios with at least 3 years in key leadership roles.

Breadth:
Typically has 5-10 years of IT and business work experience with a broad range of exposure to various technical environments and business segments. At least 3 years of experience with managing team(s) in a global environment and working across a broad range of diverse and complex businesses. The incumbent must possess strong business acumen.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
