Provides equipment engineering support and expertise to Manufacturing and Development Organization, focused on continuous improvement, cost reduction initiatives, troubleshooting, and resolution of mechanical equipment issues. Day to Day
Responsibilities:
Recommend and implement long-range solutions to equipment related problems in the plant. Design and/or specify new equipment or modify existing equipment to continually improve equipment performance. Coordinate installation, debugging, and initial operation of new equipment and systems. Identify, justify, and implement cost reduction measures. Assume responsibility for equipment receivership on projects from corporate engineering, division engineering, etc. Provide timely and efficient support to meet or exceed the requirements of internal and external customers related to equipment issues. Track the effectiveness of implemented cost reduction projects. Work with trades and operators to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues in a timely manner. Work closely with in manufacturing organization to support continuous flow operations. Use structured data analysis methods, including basic statistics. Use the scientific method to drive for fundamental understanding. Work in a cross-functional environment. Use Kepner Tregoe, Lean, and Six Sigma tools to deliver results. Ensure best practices are communicated, evaluated, and implemented. Travel Requirements:
Minimal Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:
Typically 8-5 M-F, including off-hour, weekend, and holiday hours as needed to support 24/7 manufacturing operation. Required Education and
Experience:
BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering or manufacturing Required Skills:
Knowledge of fluid dynamics, kinetics, strength of materials, unit ops, and thermodynamics Data analysis and statistics (ability to draw conclusions) Communication skills (oral/written) Technical curiosity, hard worker, ability to articulate technical information Logical, data-based, analytical approach to problem solving Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulics, material handling, batching, dust collection, or machine alignment principals and systems Project management skills Solid troubleshooting skills and experience Desired Skills:
AutoCAD/Solid works design capability Experience with six sigma DMAIC principles Formal problem-solving skills CET experience Manufacturing experience Reliability engineering experience Hands on approach Green belt certification Mechanical design Soft Skills:

Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Mechanical EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
