Purpose of this position:
To plan, support and lead workstreams on process and/or technology projects, including:
Develop or support new manufacturing technologies and methods Develop and apply new and existing product attribute characterization methods Improve existing manufacturing processes and capabilities Develop methods and processes for the manufacture and characterization of new products Develop methods, measurements and processes to improve existing products Support manufacturing improvement initiatives, including variability reduction, defect reduction, process control improvement, capacity, and 6-Sigma Key Accountabilities:
To provide engineering expertise and leadership for equipment, process, methods and measurement technologies within the Environmental Technologies - Division Engineering Forming Department.
Lead technology and engineering project sub-teams.
Responsibilities include:
Plan, organize and execute major workstreams on projects to deliver improvement and step change capabilities Project work scope typically includes design, development, manufacturing implementation, start-up and acceptance of forming equipment and process Role includes individual contributor and project workstream leadership responsibilities Manage internal Corning and external vendor resources to complete project deliverables Apply knowledge of engineering principles and methods to resolve challenges Support development and execution of the Division forming technology strategy, roadmap and project portfolio Support problem-solving in manufacturing, including root cause identification and resolution Apply process engineering knowledge, skills and experience from concept through delivery of processes and equipment at manufacturing locations.
Support individual or multiple plants within CET Role Within Group:
Provide project workstream leadership, technical and process engineering skills to meet department goals and objectives Member of Division Engineering Forming Technology Department Work with and facilitate alignment between manufacturing, development, engineering and process experts to deliver step change and improvement of process or equipment capabilities towards forming technology Travel Requirements:
Travel should be expected, dependent on project assignments.
International travel is possible.
Typical travel requirement is.
